New guy in Iowa

Hi Everyone
I've only been around TJs for a couple of years. Before that, pretty much just a truck guy. Now I'm really bitten by the "Jeep Bug". Can't get enough. I recently traded for an 03 Rubicon. 4" Trailmaster lift with some 305 x 70 x 16 Coopers on the stock Rubicon wheels. The previous owner had the lift put on professionally in 04 and it seems pretty solid. The Jeep isn't my daily driver, But I do use it primarily all winter. The ride is pretty abusive and it's difficult to get into. I'm vertically challenged and my stubby little legs don't help. But it's all good.... The tires will need replacing soon and the 305's are really too wide for the stock wheels. I'm looking at some 265 x 70 x 16 which should fit nicely and are getting closer to the stock 245 x 75 x 16. Should be the same height, just a little wider. Here's my problem, The Suspension. Should I get it back to the OEM? Can I put on 2" shorter springs and new shocks? (I do believe it might need new shocks) Just leave the 4" alone and replace the shocks? I would really like to improve the ride quality... Any replys would be greatly appreciated...
Thank You

Welcome. I live east of mason city.
License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote.
