Hi everyone I purchased my 2012 Wrangler Unlimited 3 weeks ago and I already have a great story to tell
I live in Victorville Ca. and the wife and I decided to take a roadtrip to Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. We left Saturday morning at 6am spent all day in Yosemite Valley. We left the valley at 5:30pm to our Hotel Ruby Inn in Bridgeport, Ca. I knew Tioga Road
Highway 120 was closed. Little did I know that the 108 and 4 were closed for the winter. To make matters worse our GPS did not work and it started snowing with heavy fog. I got lost looking for the 49 highway to make my way to the 88 Highway once there the 89 Highway coming out of the 88 was also closed. So I ended up 80 miles pass our Hotel destination. Did I mention a deer,Coyote, and a darn Owl all tried to commit suicide on my new Jeep grill!! Getting lost in Yosemite and taking several closed roads to my Hotel destination was dangerous and exhilarating adventure! The only assurance I had was that my new Jeep could get me through all the dangers that night had to offer
I'm doing tons of reading on upgrades I want to make to my Jeep. But there is SO much info in this beautiful site that I'll ask a few here in hopes someone with time can direct me in the right direction
1- I want 33' tires with duratracs and 15inch rims. Will I need a lift if I dont plan heavy rock climbing ( I think I read somewhere here that im safe) and will that effect my milage?
TYPE M7 - MAMBA WHEELS
Tire Details - Discount Tire Direct
2- I love the jeep but the 15mph on the street is a bumber are there any topics on chipping the 2012s for better milage?
Anyways thank you to anyone in advance that read my wall of text and can reply with advice and here is a picture of my beautiful new ride!
