new jeep owner from mass.

just traded in my chevy pickup for a brand new 2008 jeep wrangler x. I love driving it but saturday night it was pouring and rain was coming in thru passenger side door (it's a soft top) right were top of door meats windshield. Dont know if thats normal everyone says jeeps r meant to get wet!! Besides that and getting used to small cockpit,I am happy all around. Also have 2 kids 9 an 7 an they love riding in it and ask when we can take top down and cruise around. Also sorry but 1 more question i want to put a hitch on back and dealer says they have rewire whole system??? On my chevy i bought wireing harness plugged into rear lights and done....

Welcome!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new Jeep. Regarding the leak on the passenger side, this is not uncommon but I recommend you take it back to the dealer to have it checked. Often it's a simple seal issue. Regarding the hitch and wiring hookup, I question the dealer. On my '04 I was able to get the harness I needed through Mopar and installed it myself by just following the direction sheet. I cannot believe an '08 was designed in such a way that it would have to be rewired. Check on the Quadratec or the 4WD Hardware websites for harnesses and hitches. See if anyone at either place can tell you the right answers. They usually know for certain. Hope that helps! Again, welcome!
