Just bought my first ever jeep because I spent Christmas with my sister who has been sporting a Rubicon for years and I've always been jealous so I thought I'd finally pull the proverbial trigger.
I bought a slightly used, 2012 Wrangler Unlimited, 4 Door, Arctic Edition.
I'm not sure what exactly is standard on this edition, but I'm pretty sure most of what this vehicle has is stock. I bought the one with a manual gearbox.
I have only had this less than 48 hours and I'm in love with it. My daughter (5) and I are big into dirtbiking and the last straw was when we went to a sand track on the Texas/Oklahoma border and my VW got stuck in the sand as I was hauling our bikes. A Wrangler actually had to pull us out that day!
I look forward to learning more about this vehicle as I drive it more and to talk with the great folks on this forum.
I do have a quick question that I thought I would ask here in my introduction:
The jeep I have has a CD/DVD player that plays on the Nav screen. I noticed that when you engage the vehicle in motion, the video cuts out (obviously so the driver isn't watching). Is there any way to disable this feature so my daughter can watch Sponge Bob or Monsters Inc as we take our trips?
(If this is the wrong forum to ask this question please excuse my ignorance and kindly point me to the forum I should be asking).
Hey, I'm new here as well. I'm still working out my deal on a 2014 Freedom 2-dr. in Hydro Blue.
I have a similar story to yours. I was riding my KTM 950 up Ophir Pass in Colorado with a small group and got to a point where I could not keep the carbed bike running. Someone in the group unloaded the bike and rode it to the top, leaving me with my gear to be picked up by anyone willing to give me a ride. I couple in a Rubicon four-door agreed to carry me to the top. I hadn't been in a Jeep since I was a kid, and I could not believe how much they had been improved on over the years. I started seeing all the things in my 2001 Xterra that I absolutely hated.
