Smile New Jeeper

Hi...I'm new to the Jeep world. I've wanted a jeep since H.S. and now I own one! It's a red 1998 2.5L Jeep Wrangler. I don't know which model I have (TJ, YJ), how do I find out?

Also, what are some of the first mods you guys recommend?

Welcome! You have a TJ. Wipe your shoes before you walk on the carpet or tiny will spank your bottom.

Welcome to the forum. We like red. And we like pics.

How you begin to build your jeep will depend on what you intend to do with it. The first thing you should probably do is change out all the fluids and check it over well for things that have to be done to get it up to your high standards. Kind of boring, but it's important when you get a used vehicle to make sure everything is as it should be.

Fuzzy dice from the rear view is always a nice start!!!

Welcome, it looks like we have another female on the board. Not too many of us on here. Mods depends on what you are planning on getting into. Try doing a local search for a 4x4 club in your area to see what others are doing to their rigs. And never wheel without 1 more vehicle atleast.

Welcome, I think you will like it here folks are nice and very willing to help. I too would like to "mod" my rig but in all honesty you should take your time and drive for a bit to see what it is you want to do. Trail rig, mall crawler or what ever. But either way enjoy and feel free to ask any questions you like

Welcome to WF

My first mods were a CB and mirrors, next will be wheels and tires, and eventually a 3" lift. But its really up to you what mods you want, cause it depends on what you wanna do with your Jeep, and also what can you afford.
