Hello everybody I am a new member here after buying a 95 YJ in need of much work. Here is a pic in its current state. It had a hole in the driver side floor pan big enough to drop a basket ball through. I am about ready to give it a cheap paint job.

This jeep is my fourth jeep but all three of the others were CJ5s 74, 76, 78 but it with a long stretch to the YJ. I was thinking about getting a side by side and my lovely wife suggested getting a jeep( my wife is a keeper).

I am trying to keep it very streetable as a lot of our time is mild wheeling. My wife gets a little scared on anything rough. I swapped in a 31 spline ford 8.8 out of a explorer. I needed to change the gearing from 3.07 to 4.11 ratio.

There's a lot of gas lines around here too. I just got mine Saturday. I went up to my family's old farm yesterday. It's up a big mountain with a rocky muddy road and I was sooooo impressed of how easy I went up it.

They will surprise you how well they go. I put a limited slip diff with carbon fiber clutches in the ford 8.8 when I did the swap. Up front I put a Detroit True Trac clutches limited slip. It goes better than the other Jeeps I had with open diffs.

Your build is looking great so far! You may want to start a "build thread" in the YJ Forum section so others can see it. Most may not check the New Member Check In section and may miss out on your progress.

Most of my build is over except the paint. Besides my build would be so so at best compared to the really awesome jobs that are on the site.

We all like to see Wranglers brought back to life no matter how intense the project.

You might want to think about starting your own build thread either in the Builder's Corner or in the Member Sites areas. This way you don't have to keep posting your progress in your new member welcome thread.

I went to the trails outside of Ashland KY last weekend. Really nice place. The map is really confusing but the trails were nice. I only went on the green but it was beautiful country.
