Thanks for accepting me on the Forum
I am 50 y.o., native of P.R. ( Aircraft Mechanic ) Learned English while serving in the U.S. Navy ( 86-92, Oceana & CVN-71 Theodore Roosevelt ). Had three CJ5`s ( 78 & 79`s ). We used to ride Enduro Rallies on 258 & 304 engines, and have a lot of knowledge on those, shop & dirt time, even totally restored "from chassis up" a 79` Golden Eagle-304. Well, the "Jeep Thing" is back with me
, after "I don`t know how" I managed without a Jeep for about ten years, got me a 98 TJ Sahara, forrest green color. We took the TJ for a good ride yesterday first time, and I am definitely surprised with the great ride it is, powerfull and smooth ! for a true Jeep, those coil springs really do work smooth !!! The power is great, and is good on gas too, I am very impressed ( even the A/C is a new gadget for me ) I love this TJ, and on top of that, is pretty good looking and cool.
We paid $7500 and it is in really good shape, the last owner did not even take it out of the garage if rained !!!
As I ride it, I find things, hear new noises, get new feelings from its trany and transfer, and learn new switches and tricks from its design. This Jeep definitely has many more details and refinements from the old CJ5, which I still venerate as the ultimate and most perfect Jeep ever, because of its simplicity.
