New member here! 2010 JK unlimited Sport

Love my newer jeep (just 37000 miles on it!). It's got the 3.8 L engine and I don't know how good or bad that is. Any tips?

Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

Welcome. Some will claim the 3.6 is vastly superior to the 3.8. But imo they're both still crappy V6s. But both do the job for 99% of the people driving them. Both can benefit from lower gears. Just drive it until it dies. And when that happens years from now drop a V8 in it

How "involved" is it to drop in a V8? I've heard a couple of bad things about the 3.8 but so far it's running just fine. Seems like it doesn't have much "get up and go" but that could be just the V6 in a JK.

Best advice I had seen on here for the 3.8 ( I had one) but also works for the 3.6.

Run it like you stole it. Treat it like a race motor, not a 4x4 motor.

Let it rev. If you try to stay in the 1K - 2K rpm range, life will suck. One you break 2K they are almost normal powered engines, and with the 3.6, especially above 3K, it comes to life
