Hello Jeff Here.
Nice to meet you all. I have just got my first Jeep after wanting one for 30 years. I will quickly tell that story. I grew up rural Louisiana. our neighbor had an original Williy's jeep that every day he used to put hay out for his cows. I watched him do this many times. He would have it in 1st and he would step out throw a bale of out for the cows then take a couple quick steps hop back in and continue on across the field to the next drop of hay. I was about 13 and was at the bus top for school and noticed all the cows were out waiting on him to drop some hay. when he stepped out of his jeep a couple of the cows got in the way and he couldn't get back in. by the time he gout around the cows his jeep was too far away for the 70 year old to catch up. So it rolled across the field and into a tree at about 3 miles an hour. pretty funny sight watching him chase after it. Well what impressed me was the jeep hit and did not die, I heard the engine buckle down and then the thing started hopping as the tires started to jerk and it sat there and dug four holes in the ground until it hit bottom and then spun.
that stuck in my mind.
well that wasn't really short.
Any way just hopping on here to meet more jeepers, get some tips and hopefully find some locals here that wont mind me tagging along on some off road trips.
I can be the official recovery strap testing case. I am sure Im going to stick this thing a few times while I get the hang of it. I haven't driven off road since I left home 20+ years back.
So shoot me a message any time.
