Smile New Member/Jeep Owner with Questions!

Hey All,

I just bought a '99 Sahara, 73000 miles, great shape and have a few questions:

1. Is this too used to throw a lift on?

2. What should i throw on? i heard a 3" fab tech with 33'' tires is the best way to go!

3. I am also looking for a hard top for winter...where should i look to find a good deal? or are soft tops not that bad for winter?

Absoultly Not!

That is up to you. There is a 4''fabtech. You'll need to deside on the tire size you want before determining a size of lift.

3. I am also looking for a hard top for winter...where should i look to find a good deal? or are soft tops not that bad for winter?

Craigslist, and ask some local jeepers they maybe able to help you out. You're going to get mixed idea's about if the soft or hard top is better in winter.

And welcome to wrangler forum bud.

Distorted,

I believe i want 33" tires on my jeep. And since its kind of an older jeep it wont have problems hauling these tires and lift around (inline 6 4.0L). and the way your jeep is in the picture is what i kind of like! besides the fact that your set up cost more than my entire jeep!

It mite of cost more.

33's are a great size if your using this as a daily driver also. There are several lifts available to accomidate 33's. Depending on your budget. Remember 33's usaully run around $200 a tire, so be sure to factor that into your budget also.

You also need to factor gears into the senario too depending on what gears you have you may want to install lower gears. To find out what gears your jeep has you can look at the rear differental. On the left side of the diff you will have a tag on the diff cover. It will tell you your gear ratio. You could have either 3.07s, 3.55's, or 3.73's. Being yours is a sahara you most likey have 3.73's.

Exp....

What do you plan to use the vehicle for?
What is your budget for lift and tires?

Let us know these two answers and we will try to point you in th right direction to a lift to suit your needs and budget.
