New member needs advice

Hey all! Just joined and I am looking for some advice or guidance. I am not a Jeep owner, yet. But I am seriously looking. I found a 2011 Rubicon Unlimited for sale with 18k miles on it for $24000. I did enough research to know that was a good price. I called on it and the owner said that the axle had been bent but replaced and there was body damage that had been fixed. I have not yet had a chance to see the vehicle in person. I am mostly concerned about the axle replacement but do not know what questions to ask. Also, when I do go look at the vehicle, what would I want to look for? Just trying to find out what you all would do in this situation. Thanks in advance.

Look and see if it has a salvage titled and what he replaced the axle with. Body damage is ont thing but axles and major body(ie frame) would blow.

Thanks, I will check that out. I requested the VIN. My bank needs it anyway for the financing. Haven't heard back from the owner about it though and its been a while. You think that could price reflect something with a salvage title?

Salvage title laws differ in each state so you might want to look into it with DMV

You really need to look under that Jeep. I looked at some with 30,000 miles on them I wouldn't buy. Research that title.

Make sure he replced axles with a pro rock 44 lol and also test drive it in 2 wheel and 4 wheel to see if anything feels weird like noise wise or jerking. Also measure the tires from the frame to the out side of the tire and make sure both sides are even. Car fax while your at it. Good luck and welcome.

Hello again

Thanks for all your great input. The title did end up being a salvage on that Rubi. So, I am now a proud owner of a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sport! Crush, 6 speed standard, soft top. Really fun to drive. Glad I bought it. Now I need some advice on tires and wheels. Nothing too crazy. Won't be lifting or off-roading it right away. Just something to fill in the wheel wells. I heard I could put 33x10s on there with no problems. Any suggestion would be very welcome. Thanks.

I'd say you leave it stock for now sooner or later you'll get the jeep bug and wanna start putting money into it. Jeeps are a money pit. If you put 33's you might wanna re gear it and put a programmer! Mud terrains are great. Or maybe even the falken wild peaks.
