Live in league City, TX (about halfway from Houston's downtown area to Galveston Island). Picking up my new Black 2013 Unlimited Sport Freedom Edition on Tuesday the 11th.
I work off-shore (14 days on a towboat and 7 days at home)
Negotiated price online and got dealer to hold with a deposit.
Coming in at 5.2% below MSRP, which gets me about 2.4% below Invoice (according to KBB).
I had some issues with dealers close to me being very very pushy, Ron Carter for instance insisted on a bailment test drive, despite me not wanting to do it (did it anyways).
Clear Lake Dodge was slow to non-responsive. Did not have vehicle I wanted and had no idea how long it would take to get one from a nearby dealer.
AutoNation up in Spring, TX had 8 or 9 Oscar Mikes on the lot. Their internet manager asked me to call him and hung up on me 2 minutes in to the phone call (did not return message left for him, nor did he respond to e-mail sent afterwards).
Going with Northwest Dodge/et al off 290. Iris and Ryan were very quick and helpful. Met my requested price immediately and had my deposit down within an hour of me opening the chat box. I will write the full review of the purchase after I get off the towboat on Tuesday. There is no trade-in, one of my fellow Captains will be dropping me off at the dealership on his way home.
Looking forward to becoming a member of the Jeep family!
I know you must be excited . Isn't it amazing some of these dealerships stay in buisness with idjiots like that working for them. They could sell a lot more cars if their people cared. Anyways off my soap box, welcome and looking forward to your review and pics
After having had issues with several other dealerships (mentioned earlier in this thread), I finally settled on a price over the internet with Northwest Dodge Chrysler Jeep on Highway 290 just on the NW side of Houston (outside of Beltway 8).
My initial contact was with Miss Iris Martinez, and after settling on a price, her partner, Ryan Flores handled everything from there.
I set my financing up with Bank of America beforehand at 3.44% for 72 Mos with only my holding deposit down ($500). Their finance guy was able to beat my rate with a whopping 3.4% also through BoA (so, yes, .04 is a bit of a savings, not much, but every dime helps). (my score is in the high 600's)
Our agreed upon price was 34,261 (incl dest @995), which was 2.5% below invoice for the vehicle and 5.2% below MSRP. I had no other incentive or offer programs on the deal.
tax was 2079.
Doc Fee was 100
I took Gap insurance (my insurer Geico didn't offer it to me) at $720 ($10 per month)
Title and License fee was another 120 or so
I did not take the extended warranty through them, I will shop that around.
37,280 out the door
-500 (down payment)
36,780 financed @ 3.4% for 72 mos.... $565 a month.
There was no stress, no pressure from Iris, Ryan or Billy their finance guy. They expected me for 1230 and I was on my way home by 1400 with a full 20 minute over-view of the vehicle with their delivery department.
I would use them again, even though they were 45 miles away and I had to pass up 5 closer dealerships.
