I am an old jeeper from the 70's and early 80's. My jeeping was in a Toyota FJ-40. I am an engineer and just retired. I have been looking at theTJ's (Rubicon) and found a couple that I am interested in buying.

I prefer the manual transmission and have noticed the 2003s have a 5 speed, and the 2004-06s have a 6 speed.

What are the pros and cons of the two?

Is one more durable than the other?

What are the ratios for each transmission?

Does the Rubicon have a limited slip diferential in the front axle?

Do i need to post these questions on another part of the forum?

In the good old days (70s) my brother and I mad the trip out west to pismo beach, a large area of sand dunes near Death Valley, drove the Toyota to Alaska, and spent a lot of time in the woods, mountains, and costal regons of North Carolina.
