new to everything

hey all, i just got a sudden interest in wranglers and wanted to know what would be better for off the road standard or auto . hoping to get myself a yj or tj havent decided yet, can i have help on what would be good for a beginer

I would say standard, but that might be my bias speaking... way more control of speed. Also, engine braking is very useful.

Oh this'll be good...

There is lots of debate on auto vs manual tanys for off-roading. I think either will do ya right...if ya drive with your brain.

As for YJ vs TJ.... never had a YJ. LOVED my TJ. Again, I bet either will do ya right.

I'd say if you've got the money and don't have too much mechanical experience, I'd go with a TJ. You're gonna have a lot more to work on from a project standpoint if you go with a YJ. I mean it all comes down to how well the PO took care of it. I have a 94 YJ and it was my first wrangler and I love it. It's just very raw and stripped down. best of luck... and I recommend a 5spd. I feel a much better connection with my 5spd than if it was an auto.

nice thanks for the info, i will eventually have to start figuring out the mechanics myself but i do like the TJs better
