New to Forum

Hello Everyone!

My name is Mike and just joined this forum. I do not own a Jeep Wrangler, but that should change before too long. I am shopping around for one and figured this is the best place to get some education. I have owned many vehicles over the years, but never a Jeep.

So as I begin my quest to find a Wrangler, I look forward to tapping the wisdom of this site. Hope to interact with some of you all.

Welcome. I just bought my first Wrangler Sahara 2 door. I came from a high-end German luxury vehicle. Although it was a great car, I can tell you that I don't miss the luxury vehicle at all and am enjoying the Wrangler very much. It's fun to drive and different. I'm looking forward to going to work tomorrow partly because I get to drive my Jeep. Test drive a few different Jeeps. Good luck with your search.

I pretty much now look for excuses to go places just so I can drive. It does kind of make going to work just a little more tolerable lol!!!!

Exactly! You hit the nail right on the head mommy. :-) Now, I have to find some ways to "personalize" it. Any recommendations?

I don't intend to go mod crazy but on my list:
-A new bumper
-A WARN winch
-Some new tires (I don't plan to lift or anything but want something good for desert rocks maybe just one size bigger)
-Vent or door pin mirrors (for when you remove doors-you lose side mirrors since they are attached)
-Some real headlights
-Some beefier skid plates (since this is my DD I will take all the protection I can get underside)
-A neat looking Poison Spyder diff cover painted in coordinated colors
-Real floor mats
-A CB radio
-Some tailgate or seat packs to stow "stuff"
-A collection of tow straps and bungees
-Assembling my survival kit (ie axe, water, first aid, tools, blanket etc etc)

And....last but not least: A House with a Garage and a hoist so I can take the back of the Freedom Top off (probably the most spendy mod of all lol!). (I currently live in an apartment with a carport lol!)

Oh-and some cool stickers! Just because.

Great ideas. I never thought about the mirrors but that is a good idea. I'm going to save up for a soft top for Spring/Summer/Fall next year. I'm also thinking 33" Mickey Thompson tires. More stowage for outdoor overnight trips.

I live in a condo. The guy who sold me the Jeep said there are some public storage facilities that will let me store my hard top there really cheap for the Summer time, just a few months out of the year. I'm going to check and see if that's possible. If so, problem solved. Or maybe I can talk my buddy into storing it at his place.
