New to Jeeps!! Got a Rubicon!

Hi,

Like the title says.. I am new to Jeeps. To be honest I am actually very new to any 4x4. I have always wanted to buy a Jeep so today I went out and purchased a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with 38k miles on her. I know that I will get her dirty so I didnt want to go buy a brand new one just so I can feel bad about every little scratch that is sure to find its way on her. I have one other 4x4 vehicle that was just passed on to me by my wifes father that recently died. Its a 1977 Ford full size 4x4 with a 3 inch lift and a 460 V8. It also has a 4 speed manual tranny with detroit locker positrac on the front and rear ( or so thats what I have been told ) Anyway I look forward to learning alot from this community like I have from the Mazda community I am active with.

Thanks for reading and any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!

I should have some pics up by tomorrow. The Jeep is still at the dealer awaiting a new windshield that had to be installed before I would take delivery of the vehicle. I will look around and see if I have any pics of Big Blue.

Welcome to the site. I think your gona love the Rubicon. When you get a chance post some pics of both the jeep and the ford. I used to have a 76 ford F250 with 38.5 inch gumbo monster mudders on it. That thing would go through anything. Probably the best 4 wheel drive i ever had ... Untill i bought my 03 wrangler X that is.

Nice Rubi, but I gotta say, I love that Ford. That truck is clean. I havent seen a solid door or bed in a long time. Nice toys you got there.

Damn that's a sharp ford. Sorry about the loss of the farther-in-law but at the same time congrats on the new truck! And oh yeah, nice Jeep too.
