My name is Jay and I live in the Denver area. I am new to this site, but have been an offroader since I could walk. I wrench all my own vehicles, and have some talent in this endeavor.
The current stable:
2004 Wrangler X soft-top (wife's toy)- Suspension lift 4", body lift 2", discos, aftermarket skid, MT 35" rubber on MT beadlock rims, Warn winch, Warn bumper and lights, Warn swingarm spare rear bumper.
1992 Wrangler 2.5l hard-top (son's toy) - 6" suspension lift, 35" generic BFG M/T on cheap aluminum rims.
1970 Ford bronco (my project) - bone stock, ugly rust factory with a new engine. Good runner, broke the R front knuckle. Found 76 D44 with disk brakes to replace it. yay!
Offroaders I have owned, through the years:
1994 Wrangler hard-top Sahara - stroked 4.0 lifted 3", ran on 31x10.50 very well.
1984 Wrangler 2.5l soft-top - Bone stock, fun little beach toy while in N Carolina.
1978 Wagoneer Chief - A monster, highly regret selling this thing, 20 years later.
1966 Scout 800 - unstoppable tractor of a toy.
My whole family enjoys the sport, and our favorite passtime is to load up the toys with camping gear and haul it in to the Colorado back country. We set up a camp deeeeep in the state or national parks and spend a week or so there. Old now, we are building a basic hi-lift popup camper to take in this year. Grounds too hard for my old bones these days and mama wants heat on the chilly mountain nights.
