Arrow new toy coming soon

Im new to Jeeps looking to purchase our first one soon. Gotta find the right one first. We are thinking 92-95 yj. any advice on what to watch out for or pay special attention to when we are looking would be greatly appreciated. I'm super excited to get a wrangler always liked them but never had the opportunity to get one. My wife suprised me with the idea a few days ago that instead of the crappy car ive been driving to work we should go get me a jeep! Man i love her! anyways we are in Eugene area in oregon. lots of places to play around here. Mud is only a few blocks away and the sand dunes are an hour from us. Im thinking i should get the 4.0L with a manual tranny. is the 4cyl strong enuf to turn 33's or 35's? also i see a lot of jeeps people have done engine swaps on for other manufactures motors... is there a reason for that? or is it just personal prefrence? im looking forward to getting to know y'all and thank u in advance for the advice im gonna need in the future.
