I picked up a '93 Wrangler Renegade a couple of months ago. I also own a '95 Grand Cherokee and unfortunately I recently got rid of my '98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited.
I'm located in Aurora, IL and am currently in the process of getting the Wrangler into shape. Below are a few pictures. I'll call them the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly shots. Just by looking at them you'll see why.
I have already started work on her... replaced the front springs (still stock) and removed the interior in preparation to replace the passenger floorboard and cut out the broken body mounts. I also removed the gas tank so I can get a better look at the rear frame rail. The good news is that only the passenger side is rotted thru the rest of the frame is pretty straight and relatively clean. The damage to the front fender, I have been told is repairable since I do have the piece that was broken off. Although I am toying with the idea of removing the Renegade body kit and trading them for other parts that I want for the jeep.
I hope to create a build thread with some good pictures as I go along. Also I am always open to ideas.
my jeep i rusted in the same place on the frame and quadratec does sell a piece of steel that you can put on it and weld it on, it is about 130 bucks but it would completely fix the problem. here is the link. Jeep Frames & Accessories - Quadratec
Yeah I know what you mean... I have already pulled the right rear panel off so I can get better access to the frame rail. The amount of holes in the body is astounding. I might just see if I can find a good deal for a used replacement part for the front fender. Surprisingly enough there is not a whole lot of body rust on her especially since it spent the better part of it's life on Long Island, NY.
License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote.
