Newb from FL

Hello all,
My name is Kevin and I am from Melbourne FL. I recently purchased a 95 Wrangler(base model) and am mostly loving it. I know there is so much I can do to it that my head is spinning.

Took the Jeep out last weekend to try and save a few friends that were buried in the mud but I didn't seem to have enough grunt to get it done...most were on their frames.

Would love to hear any ideas as far as engine and drivetrain upgrades that you all have made to your Jeeps. Currently it has the 2.5 in it but I am saving my pennies for an engine swap if that is what it takes.

Welcome to the forum. If they were buried to the frames don't blame it on your Jeep's lack of power, blame it on the mud and your friend's lack of common sense.

Oh I know there was no chance of me getting a couple of them out...they were too heavy and too buried. What I didn't find amusing was that they could not even feel me tugging on them.
I was quite happy with the fact that I was light enough and with the 4WD kicking in I was able to at least get back out and show the right truck for the job (600HP mud truck on 60" tractor tires) how to get back to everyone.

welcome to the forum. the 2.5l is a workhorse, but it does lack power. i like the I6, myself.

jgano...I am definitely leaning toward the I6. The 2.5 is OK for getting around but call me Tim Taylor, I want more power!

OSU...When I got the call about the guys being stuck they were just outside of Melbourne. They had tried to cross a field that had been wet for weeks. As soon as they broke the surface of the ground it was nothing but nasty black mud. Started out as 1 truck stuck at 11AM...ended up as 10 stuck trucks by 11PM and I had the only vehicle still tooling around.
