Newb From NM

Heya all.Ive been reading to forums for a few moths now and finally decided to join.

I recently bought a 92 jeep wrangler 4.0 for my 15 yr old son. It was smoking like a pic and had almost no power, but for 1000 dollars I figured it would be worth putting a new CL motor in it. But when we got it home and drained the EXTRA 14 qts of oil out of it is stopped smoking and a tuneup gave it its power back.

It has 228k miles on it, and has some rust in it but seems to be in decent shape overall.

Ive replaced the exhaust system the left rear leaf spring pack, front brakes, front right hub an d outer ujoint. We beadblasted and clear coated the valve cover and put on a new gasket.

It is now MY daily driver until my son gets his liscense. At 15mpg it is much better than my 1 ton dually 4x4 on gas!

Il post some pics when I get around to it.

Welcome To The Forum

Are you going to be able to part with it when he gets his license or will you be buying one for yourself? It's an addiction.

Thanks, for the welcome.,

I just ordered newrancho shock all the way around. We took off the running boards today and exposed all the rust! Looks like il be doing some more welding.

Removed the back bumper and welded the cracks in the mounting holes. Looks ok now that I painted it.

Im looking for polyurethane sway bar and trans mounts now- Just cant keep from spending money opn this thing!
