Newb: Harley to 1st Wrangler

Hello all. Just ordered my first Wrangler through my dealership back home in the states:
2014 Wrangler Sport
6 Spd Man.
Granite Crystal Metallic
3 Piece Hardtop
Deep Tint
Alpine Sound System

Should be at the dealership by the time I get back to the states. Currently active duty serving in Iwakuni, Japan. 1st Jeep ever, fulfilling a childhood dream. Selling my Harley to help pay the costs...and surprisingly, with no regrets. Wife always refused to ride the Harley with me, but she is excited about the Jeep...so as far as I can see, that's a win-win.

Been doing a ton of reading in this forum, and love the mentality of the people here, sharing stories and helping eachother out, especially with trouble shooting, and things to look for when I take delivery of my 1st Wrangler.

Looking forward to being able to share some pics and stories.

So, I'm starting to see what everyone has talked about with the VOTS...I received the messages about being "scheduled for production" over two weeks ago, and still have yet to see any progress. I guess I should consider myself lucky that I'm still overseas, because if I was back home in the states waiting for my new Wrangler, I'd be going nuts right now. I know, I know, Patience is a virtue...but that has never been one of my stronger points.

First Thank You for your service, as far as selling the HD I had both and found that I like the Jeep better. It vibrates (just like HD) you get hot (just like HD) and you can get wet or sunburn (just like the HD) but you can put the top back on and drink coffee while you ride and also use it as a DD. My wife never liked riding on my HD either, she was afraid if something happened to us both the kids would be left alone. She likes the Jeep, because she had one when I married her.

@FLHarleyCop, It seems you and I have a bit in common when it comes to the Harley and the "MRS". She was all in favor of me having it just for me, but never wanted to ride. Which, when I went on a bunch of different rides, all the other guys had their wives with them, and I felt like I was missing out on something. However, now...I'm still waiting to get back to the states, and to pick up my Wrangler, but the wife is already finding Wrangler groups and beginner trails for us to take the Wrangler on. I feel this has turned into an absolute win-win. Thanks for the post, and if I'm understanding your username, thanks for your service to your community as well.

Got my first update...the frame is going through the assembly line. I was starting to develop a "oh well" mentality about it going through the assembly line...but now I'm all kinds of excited again. Please tell me I'm not the only one that acts this way...

Thanks 34 years in the biz, you will love the Jeep, we went to Yellowstone last summer and my wife got hooked on all the off the beat and path 4wd roads in the park. We saw lots of sites that you cannot see from the paved roads. What area of the States are you going to be in?

Not as many years as yourself. I'll be retiring soon with 24 years. I'll be heading back to VA, we'll see where we go from there.

Well...vehicle has shipped...dealer says it should be there this week...doubt it (after reading everyone else's "delays" that I've been hearing about), but still excited.
