Exclamation Newbie Canuck with a frequent problem

Hi folks. Tried to educate myself by reading posts here, to the point I can order tires on my own like a big boy, only to have Tire Rack tell me I failed.

I have a 2012 (white) Sahara with 18" Rims. I don't want to lift the jeep due to my stature, but would like to order some good looking rims and more aggressive tires. I've decided on 17x8 Rims with 4.5 back spacing and 265/70/17 Firestone Destination MTs. I've been told by Tire Rack that these will rub and that I need at least 15mm of offset.

Is this guy right? If I wish to carry one with my tire purchase and no lift, what rim would be ideal? Thanks in advance, I know you've heard this one before.

Welcome from a fellow Canadian!!

I'm pretty sure 4.5" is ok. It's not like u r going to a 35" tire....

I went with AEV Saverge wheels, hub centric, correct offset, made for jeep jk.
Stock size tires 255/75/17 BFG MT from tire rack. Rims from Quadratec. Tires are 1/2" past fenders.
