Newbie from Sydney

Hi all, my name is Rich and i'm from Sydney Australia, and within the past few days just got my first Jeep. It's a 2005 Golden Eagle, and its absolutely awesome (but i'm a little bias), and i'm super excited to join the jeep community. I don't have any photos (as the car is currently being transported from South Australia to the east coast), but when i do, i'll be sure to post them.

I may be jumping the gun a bit, but my family has been talking about putting some chrome on the car at some point. Currently its pretty stock, but being this edition it comes with cool rims and just looks all-round nice. I'm not sure if i want to change the car too much not only because it looks good already, but also because i've read posts and i dont want to be a jeep driver who disregards jeep etiquette by 'pimping' the car out (well not much). Just wondering what you guys think.

Thanks Rich

P.S. I'll change my profile pick to suit the forum when i've got a good photo of the car.

Welcome aboard, Rich. Good to see a new member from down under. Sounds like you have a nice Jeep. Hope you get a picture of it soon, and let us see it. You are now starting your summer, right?

Yep Summer in Aus, the car comes with a hardtop but i doubt i'll use it for a little bit. Having the top down along bondi beach should be pretty cool!

That's fine we get it all the time, surprisingly i don't think i've ever been asked to put another shrimp on the barbie, and no i dont have wild kangaroos in my backyard and i can't wrestle crocodiles.

Can I have your wheels?

Those gold wheels would look sooooooooo good on my rig.

Welcome.

I hope these pics turned out okay, if not i'll keep trying. The car came today and i love it. The rims are a little different to what i was expecting they're a metal grey (rather than the gold ravines that usually come with it), but im so excited im not gonna be picky. I'll try to get some other photos up, coz these are in our apartment complex, and it would look better in the sun. [Also would someone be able to help me with uploading photos, i'm sure i could get quite a few good ones, but they all seem to exceed the limit allowed...is there some sort of loophole? Or do i have to convert the files into more compressed files]

I think its clear to say this is the start of a beautiful relation...the next one i think will be a WWII Willy's Jeep (those things are so cool!)

Never mind what I said about the wheels. I thought they were the gold ravines, too.

Welcome. Nice jeep. They've had some of the Golden Eagles at our local dealer before the JK's arrived. Nice looking jeeps. I seem to remember the white one had dark red wheels with gold on them. Here's one with the gold rims.

See any of these around Sydney? Site says they're Australian Police vehicles.

I haven't seen any like that, but i certainly hope im not driving when i do, coz thats an awesome police car. I'll check out around the airport, because the building behind looks like the offices near the domestic terminal. The new JK is so popular here, today alone i would've seen about 5-6 that are the 4/5 door one (which is quite in this country to be so popular). It is an Aussie Car tho coz 911 is 000 to us.
