newbie from wisconsin

hello everyone!!

I finally got my first jeep after wanting one since my dad owned his 82 cj7 a few years back. after he sold it he regret it so bad he bought a 90 YJ and ever since he got the yj I wanted it. There is nothing great about it its got some 33's and a body lift on it that just doesnt look right to me. the jeep started acting up a bit so my dad was getting tired of it so he bought a pick truck. he needed to get rid of the jeep and he was willing to let me have it for $1300. so no im a proud owner of 1990 YJ with the 4.2 and an auto tranny. The jeep does need quite a bit of work but i think it will be worth it at the end.

heres a bad pic of it its all i have for now but i will get some more up as soon as I get a chance

thanks for the warm welcoming evryone.

I am in milwaukee. The jeep is in fair condition I can see some rust behind the flares and I think there is a bit of rust on the driver side floor but i dont know how bad since i havent take the flare or the carpet off yet. The biggest problem is the engine. I think I want to rebuild it but im not sure if I should save up and do an amc 360 swap. either way it will be a slow process since I am saving up for the wedding in september of 2011.

Just keep an eye on your frame. Mine looked good when I got it but a year and a half later I had to get it patched by the steering box and now just had the rear fixed after I had the gas tank out and found more cancer.
I grew up in Milwaukee and now live in Butler.
Here is a link about the jeep wave if you are not fimiliar with it. a history to the wave??

Welcome to the Forum. I'm just down the road and over a few hills from you. I live in Racine Wi. Many good how to's here. Be going north to Green Bay this weekend for LZLAMBEAU (LZ Lambeau) but we will have the Goldwing trike, and not the Wrangler.

There is a lot of hype about that in town.

Welcome from upstate NY. Keep an eye on the inner rear frame and top shock mounts! Just had to weld a new pass side rear on mine yesterday.

Just about any place where metal meets metal and could stay wet longer than exposed areas... Around the windshield where the molding that holds the windshield in is always a sneaky place.
