Newbie: Jeep purchase decision - please help!

Hi - I've been agonizing over buying a Sahara versus Rubicon. I've found a great deal for a Rubi with all the option imaginable (navigation, dual top, remote start etc) and it is actually a better deal than most Saharas. My main concern is that the Rubi is a rougher ride than the Sahara given what it's been designed for. A deal told me that the Sahara rides more like a regular car - it is much smoother and more comfortable - is that true? Are the two rides comparable for highway which is what I'be be using the car for mostly and will I be missing something that the Sahara has that the Rubi doesn't? Thanks so much! Need to make my decision by tomorrow!

I don't think they ride any different. My JKU Sport rides almost the same as my inlaw's rubi. (bumpy) lol There might be a difference but I couldn't tell.

Welcome Aboard! Test drive a Rubi and Sahara and see if one has a better ride.

I suggest test driving both. I did and they defiantly have a different feel. The rubi was stiffer/harder. You're dealer was correct the Sahara is a bit softer. I noticed it. Also, like you, I purchased not for off roading. I purchased for the versatility of hauling boxes and also personal use. Did not want anymore typical SUV's out there. Always loved the jeep but kept putting it off for years as I did not like the plastic cheap feel of the interior and the slow engine. Now it has both upgrades!

I don't know if 'much smoother' is the right term... it's all relative... some folks like the flatter cornering of a firmer suspension. The difference is more notable in the 2 door... in my test driving, my preference was the Rubicon, but I only drove 4 doors...

I did drive rubi and Sahara 4 door and I did feel the Sahara to be smoother in street driving.
