I bought my 2000 TJ just about a year ago, and have liked it much. I could be looked down upon for buying only a 4-cyl Jeep, but hey, it works for me. I don't have many opportunities to go out off-roading (although I would like to do more of that in the future when I get the time), and I drive mostly on highways for commuting. So I better gas mileage from a 4-cyl engine.
Just got new tires on, the BFG Rugged Terrains. They seemed to be a good compromise for lots of highway driving and traction in the winter and mild off-roading when possible. We'll see how they hold up in the coming months.
This coming spring, I plan to get some brackets to attach the mirrors to the frame and ride without doors. We'll have to wait and see if finances work out for a small lift too.
I joined WF to inquire about a horn problem, so see those threads for posts from me in the immediate future.
