Lightbulb Newbie looking to buy soon...Season matters?

Hi everyone

I'm fresh to this site (glad I found it) and would like to briefly introduce myself. I owned a Wrangler at 18, it was my first car and a prized possession. Shortly thereafter my parents made me sell it, and it was the biggest heartbreak of my life. I've never recovered and so here I am...10 years later..and I WILL own one again VERY soon. That's it, in a nutshell. SO......my question is...in everyone's opinion, what is the best season (financially) to purchase one, or is this just a myth? I live in a seasonal area, where a Wrangler might be a "hot commodity" in the summer months. Any info at all would be much appreciated !

First of all, WELCOME!

It's pretty common to see Wranglers being more expensive in the spring/summer and cheaper in the fall/winter, especially in an area like you, more so in hotter areas like the south west desert. I'm sure you'll find a deal no matter the season though, just depends on when someone decides to let go of their precious Wrangler.

Just go ahead and start looking. You can find a deal any time of the year and if you put it off, you may miss a good one.

Welcome to the forum. I'm new also, just learning to post pics. I'm in Northern California and don't know if you're looking for new or used. Advertised deals for new in my area seem to be quite a bit better than when I bought my 08 (new). Bought a 4-dr Sahara. After spending some time in the Sierras with it I decided I wanted a 2-dr and looked for 6 months and finally was lucky enough to find one locally. I use the Sahara to get me up there and the TJ to play.

welcome, since it's only march, this is kinda hard to plan on, but

Buying a 2010 JK in the last quarter of the 2010 year, will probably get you the best deal

The 2011 are already out and SOME dealers will probably be trying to clear their inventory, before Dec. 31 and you can probably still get some rebates

By the end of 2008, I was able to find a full JK "unlimited" Rubi-list $38,XXX and got it for $30,XXX, out the door, so you may have to wait, or stumble on a 2009 NEW--good luck

Wlcome. I would think Jeeps (in Long Island) woud peak in sumer and fall. So now would be a great time to buy. Most dealers are hurting anyway so make sure you drive the deal for hem.

Mr. Wot, why are the pics needed? Haha - I don't have a Wrangler yet, so I can't post any pics of that....is it typical for people to post personal pictures of themselves on this profile? Wasn't sure :=)

I think that your avatar will do for now. Just keep him guessing How is the search going? Do you have a price range or are you thinking new and the sky is the limit.

Ohhh boy..the sky is certainly NOT the limit at this point in time One day, but that day has not come yet (Still finishing grad school) - Really what I'm looking for is between a 2004-2006 with decently low mileage. I don't like the change of style after the 2006, so this is the last model I'd want. I'd be psyched to get a great deal of around $12k, but I'm thinking $13-$14k might be more like it :/ Especially since I'd be looking for an automatic (It'll be my everyday car and impractical enough as it is ! )
