Not Another noob?!?!? Warning...long post

Hello all, I just purchased my first Jeep...last Wed. to be exact. I've been lurking here on the forum since Thurs. trying to soak up as much info as possible, and boy you guys are definately full of it...valuable info that is .

My decision to purchase my Wrangler was kind of a painful one. You see, I traded in my Cummins which I loved immensely. It wasn't really a "necessary" trade, I was just looking to lower my payments some, and I thought it would be really adventurous owning a Jeep. Afterall, you're always seeing different Jeep builds on "Spike" come the weekend, and I figured, "Why not start looking?"

Anyhow, I found a "too good to be true" Unlimited through one of our stealerships. Went and looked at it, drove it, and liked it...even though it wasn't my truck. Come paperwork time, they tried the ole bait n' switch on me with the sales price, and of course tried low balling me on my trade. I told them I was perfectly happy with my truck, and my attorney should be happy with a potential suit against them for false advertising. Twenty minutes later the lot director was calling me saying that they will honor the price and give me what I was asking for my Dodge. Two hours later...no thanks to the make ready dept., I was driving off the lot in a 2006 Wrangler Unlimited w/ 28,000 miles and a new note totaling $11,600.... the yellow is starting to grow on me.

My "Cummins Depression" has slightly subsided since last Wed. As soon as our weekend storm clouds parted, and blue skies and sunbeams broke through; the top was dropped, and three little girls grinning from ear to ear hopped in for the first ride.

I now have a new outlook on the decision I made... as well as a new outlook and a re-discovery on the joys of driving.

I apologize for the length of this post, it's just odd that ever since last Wed., things have been going "right", and I wanted to share it with y'all.

Oh yeah, I got my first "JEEP WAVE" today...my wife didn't understand my excitement.

BTW, the name's Michael..... nice to meet you

Thank you all for the greetings.

I'll be taking pics very soon, I've been trying to "take care" of her, to make her feel more of my own.

I've been spending the last couple of days cleaning and conditioning the top, as well as touching up some rock chips/rust spots...I know, it's a Jeep they're suppose to be there, except I'm not the one who put them there
Also, I'll be removing the flares to spray bedliner (rattlecan) on them; I'm not going to battle the faded gray look throughout the duration of my ownership..lol.

Scout, it just so happens I have family in your area. As a matter of fact, my step-father in law use to be the elected sheriff in Crane county just below you. Howdy

Welcome Can't wait to see some pics. Nice descriptive post by the way. It wasn't too bad at all, quite enjoyable to see that someone played the dealership, lol.

Again, thank you all for the greetings.

Here's some pics. I was trying to hold off for a little while, but I guess I needed some "before" pics anyway.

I live in Pleasanton (commonly pronounced by the locals as "Pled'nton") which is a little south of San Antone.

I know you probably can't tell, but the side windows were pretty scratched (tree branches) up from the previous owner using it for what it was intended for. I've been using Meguires plast-x on them and so far all the minimum scratches have been reduced fairly well...definately renewed the glossiness of the windows though. I made the dealer replace the rear window all together.
