Not so noob in Pa

Hi everyone, new to the forum but not to jeeps, although i've been away from them for a long time. Started out with a 57, hardtop came from Sears & Roebuck [ wish i had that one back ] Then went to a 71, 343,camed up with headers. That sucker would go. Then a new 77, CJ5, stock except tires. I'm now getting ready for retirement and needed something to play with around town and in the woods. I just bought a 93 Wrangler, 6cyl, 5 speed, soft top, agressive tires and a 8,000 lb smittybuilt winch. So far i love it. I have 2 ? I'd like to ask. 1 what wt. oil should i use. 5w30,10w30 or a high mileage oil ? Jeep has 83,000 miles on it. 2 I can't get it to go into neutral or 4 L. There was no owners manual with it. Any help would be appreciated. I might be able to find the answers in the forums, but right now, I don't have the time.
Thank"s Bob

Hey there from a SW PA boy.

Oil will probably get you a ton of suggestions, here's mine. I run 10W30 Pennzoil in ours.
It's a 97 4.0 with around 140000 on it.

First you need to be creeping forward sometimes to get her in 4 Low. As for neutral, or even sometimes 4 Low (to get it out) let it roll backwards slightly as you try shifting.
This takes any bind off the drive train.

Also you may want to take a peek underneath to make sure the 4WD shifter linkage is tight and not flopping around on you. If it's lifted, in some cases, dependent on the lift height, the shifter needs to be relocated, or it hits the sheet metal and won't let you go into 4 low.

Oh and welcome back!

97 Sahara, 74 Renegade, 72 CJ5, 55 Willy's (the Beast) Boss 302, 6:34 gearing, Bose 901 speakers.
God I miss that Jeep. Forgot the kinda Jeep, 80 SX4.
