Plastic Welding Factory JK Front Bumper

I have read about somebody making they're own shorty stock bumper on their JK and plastic welding the ends. Anybody have any info on this? I plan on installing a winch in the factory bumper and really like the plastic welded ends on their shorty (i think they said they used a soldering iron to do it).

I haven't seen anyone "welding" them, but I have seen some cut down and bolted on. Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

Welcome, I believe they cut the bumper ends and then attached caps to it with bolts... Good luck and enjoy....

Vdp stubby kit. Plastic end caps.

Someone also makes a kit with metal end caps.

Easiest install I've done.

Cut the ends off, mount the caps, drill holes, insert retaining plugs.
