What's up Jeep owners. I'm new to the forums here and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm from Alabama and have been a off roader since i got my first 4X4 at 17. I've mainly owned Chevys and Yoda's but am looking to get a Jeep (hopefully this weekend). I'm looking at a 97 Wrangler. It's seems to be in pretty good shape for 120000 miles but haven't checked it out extensively yet. Fingers crossed that everything works out so i can get it and that its a good jeep. I look forward to being on here with you guys and learning what it means to own a jeep.
P.S. I have my doubts about if a Wrangler can keep up with a Toyota but since i've never owned one, i'm not going to hold a biased opinion that one is better than the other. I had a 2000 Tacoma regular cab with 6" of lift, 5.29 gears, lockers front and rear, side rock guards, warn winch, and 36X14.50X15 Super Swampers and that joker went anywhere i wanted to and held up pretty well. The only real problem i had with it was the alternator would quit charging (the genius that designed the placement decided the best place was on the bottom right side of the motor so whenever i went through tire high mud or water the brushes would stick
) But from seeing friends with Jeeps they seem to be pretty reliable and off road capable.
