Rubicon n00b

Hey all. Just ditched my lifted 08 Liberty for an 05 Rubicon. Love this thing so far!

It's currently on (suspected) blown stock suspension, but still good MT/R's, XRC front winch bumper w/Smittybilt (meh) waterproof winch, XRC rear bumper, and Bestop Trek top NX. That's pretty much the aftermarket stuff, plus the Rubi goodies!

Plans for it are to lift it. Hence why I'm here. Need advise on a lift kit. I've already got a few in mind, just have questions about how they work together.

Well crap, I thought there was a Rubicon forum here. Bah. I'm just trying to find out if I can do a 4" lift on my Rubicon without a BL, and if so, with it being the Rubicon, do I really need anything else except the shocks, springs, control arms (optional?), drop pitman arm, front track bar, maybe steering stabilizer, am I missing anything?

I know there other things that come into play at about that height (SYE, MML, TC drop, etc), but do I need to do those things since it's already got the upgraded stuff that comes on the Rubicon? Thanks a ton!!

welcome to the addiction

JEEP = just empty every pocket

FYI it is a Rubi you don't need an SYE....I made the same mistake.
You also get with the Rubi the 4.0 - 1 gear driven xfer, Dana 44's frt and rear with lockers

Are you wanting a short arm lift?? those you can do in the driveway and they are pretty inexpensive.
I did the long arm lift RE HD 5.5 with 1.75 BL and 1" MML

Lol, I'm a long time car addict. I've been into them for a loooong time. A couple yrs ago I built a Nissan 240sx with an LS1 (Corvette) engine in it lol. Still have that and I loooove to drive that thing! I'm no stranger to this expensive hobby.

With the Rubi's, don't forget the upgraded driveshafts, and better (1330) u-joints, and skids, and diamond plated rocker panels. Oh and the stock MTR's! There's a reason I held out for an 03-06 Rubicon! (mainly for the 42RLE 4spd. auto vs. the 3spd.)

Short arm would be fine with me. I definitely don't want a long arm, and I don't want to get too rowdy with the mods (.......yet.....) because it's my daily driver. I'd also like to stay away from the body lifts (personal pref., and because for now I'm only looking to put 33x12.50's under it).

I'll throw some pics up in a few.
