Taking Soft top out of the car

Just purchased my new Jeep wrangler sport dual top.
Do i need to remove the soft top completely from the car when im using the hard top? Or can you leave it just sitting at the back?

According to the owners manual, you must remove the soft top to prevent premature wear, with the hard top on. Taking off the softie is easy, just remove the 4 bolts that hold it to the roll bar brackets and pull it out. Leave everything attached and store it securely till spring.

I think only one person posted on here (There are other threads about removing the soft top for hard top) that he was able to fold the softtop back to 'factory' specs and install the hard top over it. Get the 'quick disconnects' for the mounting points and it will be easy to do, wrap it in an old blanket and store it. Don't leave the windows in, get a window 'roll' for them. Without the soft top under the hard top, it will seem a lot roomier and you have clear access to some storage behind the rear seat. If you have the 'trunk' option, the top of it is easy place to put stuff you can reach from the seat.
Leaves you lots of elbow room for passengers back there...
