Test Drove our first Jeep Today (Update)

Hello folks,

Well ... we test drove Bumble again today to see if it had the dreaded DW.
Took it up to between 60 and 70 mph. Not a shake or shimmer to be noticed...yeehaaa. The steering was very responsive. I could see why one be be extra cautious on and off ramps and sharp turns.
The sway I had mentioned in my previous post did not even seem as noticable either. I think we were just so used to driving a car and truck that we weren't ready for how a Jeep would handle and it through us a bit.

Now thanks to you folks we are very confident in knowing that it's really just a Jeep thing and we are very much looking forward to purchasing our first ever JW Sport

Here's a photo I took of the only real damage on this Jeep. It looks as if it was bumped into at one time and the glass seal broke away from the housing.
Are these stock foglights.? I would like to replace the one that's damaged.
BTW it does light up...lol
Thanks again for all of your help

Peace
Chris

Also, the sway you mention is also probably due to the extremely short wheelbase.

Yeah that looks like a stock fog light. You can easily find replacements or upgraded ones for under $100/set.

That won't be an expensive fix, especially since the wiring is working
Best of luck with your search, feel free to ask questions

Thanks again AzTJ. We felt much better after driving it again plus the salesguy didn't ride with us so we had more time to test out everything a little more.

Thanks again RBNmexico, I will definitely be asking many more questions along the way. If I get too annoying just tell me or send one of those smilies

Very Cool. Thank you. I can see from the amount of posts you have and your join date that you've been here for a while.

One more question then. What do all the abbreviations stand for on all the different year Jeeps, like Yj Tj X etc...

Those abreviations refer to body styles of wrangler production runs. CJ's are the oldest. They look like tractors sort of. Very cool look. They are years 1944-1986 I believe. In 1987, the YJ came around. It's identified by those weird, goofy square headlights lol! Nah, YJ's are cool too. Then in 1997 TJ's appeared. These are the most commonly seen. Then ran through to 2006, and 2007 brought the current JK, which looks alot bigger than the others in stock form.

X, Sport, Rubicon, and Sahara are all different trims and packages for Wranglers. Tomb Raider, Mountain, Islander, etc are limited special runs with special color schemes, interior, etc.

Congrats on your Jeep!

Yeah, I'd stop playing around with that. It looks expensive.

Post count does not = Jeep intelligence.

As for the abbreviations, like GroceryGrabber said, they are chassis designations. Most manufacturers have some form of chassis designation weather it be numbers or letters or a combination of both.
