Total n00b here... does the Jeep "wave" like a moron.

If you see someone waving frantically from the passenger seat... it's me. Sorry, I'm "overly enthusiastic."

So, my name is Jeff. I am 41. I have wanted to own a Jeep for about a year, ever since I drove one for a week-long FTX. An opportunity availed itself recently, I went AGAINST my wife's wishes... (uh oh) and invested in a very clean 2006 Wrangler Sport.

In short, it's my dream car. And I'm VERY excited.

You didn't miss anything. 99% of the time I *will* be waving from the drivers side. However, I'm such a dork about this that when I move over to the copilot seat, I can't stop myself. Sometimes I'll even press my face up against the glass and use both hands. How's that for a mental image?

It's a design I have kind of adapted as my personal logo. Those photos don't do it justice, I had it cut in a metallic charcoal vinyl, when the sun hits it, the decal sparkles just like the paint job

I got a tattoo for my 40th birthday, and that's the design.

For anyone not familiar with the Gadsden flag, here's a little page on my website with all the relevant details. I'll be updating it soon with information on the Three Percenter logo and the 9-stripe Sons of Liberty flag, too.

I mentioned this in another thread

It makes me sad that Wrangler drivers don't wave so much like they use to. I think when you buy a Wrangler you need to sit through a class on ethics for jeep driving. Cause your joining a legacy not just buying another random vehicle. It felt weird when I wasn't in my jeep though. I had been driving a jeep for about a year when I brought it to the shop with a repair to the radiator. And I was in my rental car (A PT cruiser) and forgot that I was in a cruiser not a wrangler. I waved at the Jeeps and they gave me dirty looks. On the other hand Cruisers have their own wave and when they were waving at me I was hidding my face under my ball cap. But thats just my thought and story to go with the thought. Now can I get a penny?

But Nice Jeep. Sorry the Boss didn't approve right away but just give her time. She will come around. NOW... FTX, hmmm? Which branch of the Service might I ask, though I have a pretty good Idea from the way you talk? Thanks for your service, brother.

OH, and I almost forgot welcome.

While I appreciate the sentiment, don't thank me for my service just yet... unfortunately all the official ones turned me down at one point or another. Something about my particular combination of bad knees, back and eyes. Even stopped in at a National Guard recruiting station about a year ago and while the gentleman was very nice, he practically laughed me out the door. Sure, I might not be able to hump a ruck for 10 miles and walk the next day, but I contribute where I can. Some of my best friends are active duty, thank them.

Right now I do my part by speaking at events across the country, educating people about the constitution. I don't want to go into too many details here, because I am new, and I assume that this is a largely apolitical forum, don't want to get my ass banned on the first day.

You're willing to be the co-pilot? That's the only bit of 'crazy' I detect in this scenario!

Welcome aboard!

Its very simple but you need to follow the steps to the letter. To start with you will need an IBA and K-Pod. If you can't get the IBA then get the tank lids to the toilet and duck tap them to your chest front and back if you can manage. If you can't muster a K-Pod then take a Pot from the kitchen cupboards and make sure it fits over your head. Preferably one the is cast Iron. And try not to lose sight. The second you lose visual kiss your ass good bye. Now onto step two. This step I am going to call research. You need to build Jeep after Jeep finding the right combo of the comforts she likes in a car and the right price. The next step I am going to call Grenade in the bunker. For this one I need a bit of a short story/explanation. First thing you should know is that I am in MI which comes into play in a little bit. You see in basic we had to do the grenade obstacle course. "When you get to the front of the line" The Drill Sergeant explained " You will be given a live fuse grenade. And depending on how far you throw it depends on the symbol on your helmet." Now we threw fuse grenades before the real grenades so we learned to listen to the commands given when we threw it. I was a solid thrower but because I was MI to be they automatically was labeled as a weak thrower. Any ways The point of the story is this. When we would throw the grenade they command would be given of either: Grenade in the bunker or grenade out. On the command "grenade in the bunker" we would jump out of the bunker and put our bodies up against the barrier to protect our faces and bodies from the debris that fell from outside the bunker and keep ourselves from being blown up.This action will be necessary for the act of telling your spouse. Practice this step. Pretend like you are telling her and then leap outside of the room and cover your face against the wall. Now practice that about 30 times, trust me it is important. Then the last step is to tell her. When you tell her show her the jeep and all the stuff that comes with it. Now stand up move towards the wall and tell her the price. That step is called kiss your ass good bye. Good luck man. I am pulling for you.
