Towing and other

Hi all,
My name is Garry and i'm looking at buying my first Jeep (Wrangler). I have NO knowledge of these cars at all, and before jumping in wanted to make sure its the right car for my needs.

First and main concern is Towing, i took my first Meep for a drive today and got to say i was i little underwhelmed with the power. I need something that can safely pull 1 1/2 tonne of car and car trailer.

It was the six, would i be better off with the turbo deisel or avoiding the Jeep as a tow vehicle?

Are there any tricks or traps with the Wrangler?

Good and bad features?

They are a great looking vehicle and i would love to have one but it needs to be up to the job of lugging around my trailer

Thanks in advance to the Jeep community

Garry

I don't tow but I think you'll be okay. I've seen a couple of threads on this issue.
If you post your question in one of the tech. or general areas you;ll get more responses.

In the mean time . . .

Welcome. I don't think I would get one for a tow vehicle.

You COULD Tow it, the problem would be STOPPING it.
I would strongly advise AGAINST it. Very UNSAFE, and the
Wheel base is far too short on the Wrangler. A Jackknife
situation is HIGHLY likely. There are a couple Members
that Tow Light Boats, 14'ers, but they only Tow them to
the Launch, less than 3 miles, from their house & NO
Hyways.

I tow a single waverunner trailer, no problem there. I put it into O/D when driving city but when I get onto the highway I take it off.
