Trouble codes 95 Jeep Wrangler

Hi,

My 95 Jeep Wrangler keeps staling. I just found out how to check the codes by turning the ignition on and off. And when I did, it read codes 12 and 33. I do not have air conditioning. So it doesn't seem like there should be a problem there. So why is it staling. If I am leaking exhaust could that be messing with my 02 sensor? Do I have to disconnect the battery and clean the terminals to reset computer? I am a single mom, and I can't afford to take it to a shop. Please help!

those are standard codes that will come up, thats why they dont trigger the CEL (12 is battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts, 33 is normal for no AC).. describe more of your symptoms.. i'm sure I or someone else will be able to help also is it the 2.5L or 4L?

Here are more symptoms. It will start and drive for about a couple miles sometimes more. Then just dies. When I turn the ignition it sounds like it is trying to turn over but can't. It will take a couple tries but then, when it starts, it only goes about half a block or less. It seems like I have to let it sit for a while otherwise it either won't start or starts and only goes about 20 feet. I put the fuel injection cleaning fluid into it tonight and used about a quarter tank. But it still died. I might have heard some ticking when it died but it's hard to tell with my ole girl. I am hearing a rattle by the back axle but that could just be where the cop pushed me over with his cruiser to the side of the road when I broke down.

Thanks
Stacy

Welcome to the Forum Stacy

If you will post these symptoms in the YJ section, I'm sure that you will get replies about possible causes for the problem. This is a welcoming thread and won't be viewed by as many as it will under a model thread.
