Whats Up!

Hello everyone out there in the Wrangler forum lets see I own a 1988 YJ I got for free I know some mechanical stuff but not everything about a Jeep Wrangler yet! Ive owned Cherokee's and fixed them for 4 wheelin so Iam a virgin in the Wrangler community. I work as Police Officer so sometimes I have very little time to wheel but love every minute of it when Iam out there. Once again nice to be part of this cool site!!!!!

Free Wrangler? Cool. Get a Chilton's or Haynes manual at your local parts store and start reading up. We will supplement the information if you ask specific questions.
Congrats on the free wrangler and many happy days wheeling the devil out of that beast!!!

Sure here is the story the town I work as a cop has lots of old jeeps and newer jeeps just lying around so one day I saw a black Jeep wrangler sitting in a field with grass growing at least up to the doors. The lady that was at the house was outside and I stopped by and asked her what the deal was with the Jeep. She told me her husband had the Jeep and planned on fixing it up but never got around to it. I asked if she would want to sell it because the Jeep had a lift and some 31's on it. She asked her husband and he told me "Just take the damn thing". He had a clear title and two keys he told me the Jeep hadnt run in a year but for free.. so i towed it homed a was wrenchin' on it and boom I got it to start. the only thing wrong was the fuel filter and the radiator had a hole in it. So put in a new radiator and fuel pump and it started up fine. The carb on i sucks and has problems that why Iam currently looking to get a new one put on. The Jeep didnt come with a top or doors so Iam currently looking for those. I just bought a set of 5 black cragar soft 8's for 150.00 and I got a set of 31' Super Swamper Boggers for 150.00 all of craigslist. i need a new windshield frame if anyone out there has one to sell mine is rusty and a little bent from a light bar the guy had attached I have pics I will see if I can post here!
