What's up Jeep community?

Hi from Nashville, TN. I just traded in my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo for a 2005 Wrangler X with only 17k miles on it. I figured it would be a good investment, 1. I get to drive one of the most fun automobiles and 2. the re-sale value is incredible on Jeeps (pending I ever decide to sell it). I'm interested in all the accessories that can make my Jeep my Jeep. Here's a pic (from my phone), you'll be hearing a bunch of rookie questions from me, if I can't find them in the search.....

I'd like to get some "meaner" tires and rims put on it. I'm not gonna go off road much but I want it to look ready, but still be a practical day to day car. Any suggestions? What are some inexpensive adjustments I can do it? Does anyone suggestion diamond plating?

BF Goodrich All-Terrains wear well on the road while still looking agressive.

Yeah that's what I was looking at. They aren't cheap, so I'm gonna start saving. I joined this forum to learn more about the different types of lifts, tires, and general Jeep knowledge so I'm gonna search around the site to see what I can come up with. Of course I'm always up for opinions and suggestions...

Yeah I am a big fan of the BF Goodrich All-Terrains for all road types. You see a lot of them in the North East.

Welcome to the site. Get yourself some 31x10.5r15 tires. They will give your Jeep a great look and you can still do some mild wheeling till you can get a lift. (If that is what you want). I am still waiting to get my lift. I got my tires from TreadWright.com. They are retreads, but the price was right and they are a quality tire. Here's a couple of pics.

welcome and yes the BFG are pretty good for both on or off road. they don't have to be expensive either. I found 5 - 31X10.5 BFG AT TA KO on crager rims on craigslist.org all for 270. so if you look you can find what you want

I've looked into the retreads. Are they safe? Seems a little suspect. Can I keep the stock rims on for some 31's? Good looking Jeep Danimal, looks like mine what year?

Welcome, I'm in the same boat looking for tires. I'm wondering about the treadwrights also no reviews on their website - makes me wonder? I used to run retreads all the time in college but it was around town driving many years ago! maybe we can get some more first hand experiance feedback.

I just bought my 02 wrangler, and it has 31" tires on the stock rims. I want to go up to 35's, but I am going to wait until I need new tires. Then I will get lift and tires at the same time.

But now that I'm thinking of it, can the stock rim handle a 35? I was thinking of using the stock rim with a 35 tire for my spare. Who cares what it looks like, as long as it gets me home!
