Hiya, welcome to the forum..... take that top off and store it under a tarp in the yard. We don't need to stinking tops!!!

(I think you can use a sawzall and just cut a big hole.... )

i understand....

kind of my thoughts too. we live in seattle and my thoughts are to take off the hard top and possible get one of those full cab covers if it rains. Our jeep didn't come with soft top and
i'm not sure i want to buy one. I would rather just quickly cover the whole cab versus messing with a soft top. any thoughts? thanks! rob

Yeah, just my two cents because I have never had a hardtop. Maybe that's why I don't miss it. I wouldn't trade my softie for anything. I can take it off and out it on in about 5 minutes. I really think a softtop is a good investment. I feel sorry for people with hardtops, really. I don't think they get to enjoy the full jeep experience.

Have you checked with any local shops that install sunroofs on cars? They usually have all the matierials there that you would need to install a sunroof/moonroof in your hard top. They may have even done some of them themselves. If they can install a sunroof in steel I don't see why it wouldn't be possible in a fiberglass hard top.

Oh, welcome to the forum...

You could install a sunroof in a hard top. I have seen it done. Any sunroof installer can do it. You can do it yourself too. It's really not that big a deal, just make sure whoever does it, knows what they are doing, or you'll end up with leaks. I'd have a pro do it, so if it leaks u can take it back to them. And don't buy the cheapest POS sunroof they have. You won't like it.

A better idea might be to get the soft top hardware off of ebay and buy a bestop replacement skin. It will probably cost u the same as getting a "decent" sunroof installed.
