Yeeep

Whats up fellas (and ladies),

I just bought a used 1994 wrangler this past week and was looking to learn the ins and outs of the thing. These are the things are do know. It is raised 3½ inches, has new (upgraded?) header, new upgraded exhaust and bigger, fatter tires (Ill get the specifics soon). It has been very well maintained and has VERY minimal, fixable rust.

Things I would like to know: What wrangler is this in terms of the yj, tj, cj, or whatever there is? What are the best sites to get the highest quality upgrades/replacement parts for the cheapest prices? and just general maintenance tips.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Pics of the jeep and the only rust there is:

Welcome to the forum George. You have a YJ my friend. As far as good online stores for YJ parts I'll have to let someone else comment on that.

Welcome George, glad you joined us. Looks like you found a real nice jeep, with a lot of work to do, to it. Another good source for parts, is www.4WheelParts.com. They will also send you free magazines, with great stories, and adventures, builds, and neat ideas.

Odhinn and I, like to call that jeep porn. My backseat is covered with "Jeep porn" never know when I want to grab one and start reading a parts mag while at a red light.

Welcome, thats one purdy jeep. I kinda cringed when I saw the rust in that one picture. I hate rust =(

yea. thats what i meant by fixable rust tho. new window frame is 140 and to paint would prolly be the same if not a lil more. the rear hinges need to be replaced and under them touched up. The mirror s and mirror mounts/hinges just need replacing and just above the mirror mounts needs to be ground down and redone. All in all, prolly 800 bucks of work but nothing drastic.

Getting rid of your rust, and making it mechanically sound. That is what I meant, by having a lot of work to do. That is not a bad thing, and was only meant as understanding the work you will have, ahead of you. Good luck, and don't get discouraged. It looks doable.
