yet another FNG! with some questions!

Hey all!

just another newb checking in. I've been loving jeeps for a long time just never got around to getting one until now. I'm in the process of picking up a real clean low mileage 01 Sahara.

Now for the questions.

I'm looking for a nice read. Some history, some comparisons between models, and also some maintenance manuals. I know this won't be all in one book, but what do you guys have in your garage?

Welcome. I picked up a pretty cool book that goes over Jeep history, all the different models. I got it at Barnes and Noble, it's called "The Story of Jeep", by Patrick R. Foster.

It's not Wrangler-specific, but it's worth looking through.

Hope that helps

welcome aboard, on a side note when you're looking to buy a rig, take a look at the rear differential, try to get one with a metal plug (almost at the middle of the diff cover), not the black plastic one. metal plug... d 44.. stronger diff... can handle bigger tires better

if the one you're looking at has the plastic black plug in the rear diff, use that to try to lower the price of the rig as that is the D35 rear diff and its weaker.

Thanks for the heads up! A little late, made a purchase already. Which models come with the metal plug?
