yyyyyyello from central NY

just a small introduction. just picked up my 97 2.5 tj a little less than 2 months ago. I was a long time wrx owner. many mods and much money later, the car suffered a broken connecting rod at 178,000 miles. I bought the subaru stock with just over 40,000 miles on the clock so we lived a happy life together. on to my next adventure...a patriot blue (go GIANTS!) 97 2.5 liter, 5sp stock wrangler with just a hair under 80,000 miles on it.
here she is after about 3 days of ownership.

I just removed the bumper end caps the other day and all the mounting bolts just spun inside the caps...out came the hacksaw blade (and the swearing). HOLY MOTHER!, I would have rather installed an aftermarket uppipe in a wrx. Thats a joke to anyone who has done that install on a wrx before
well now at least they are off and here she is, until I get more pictures (the wife just got me a dslr for my birthday, so they are sure to come!)

the old girl

for those in the subaru game, she had k&n cold air intake, 820cc injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump, evo3 16g turbo on about 23 lbs of boost. grimmspeed coated catless uppipe, invidia catless downpipe, jna catback exhaust. gimmik motorsports turbo inlet, grimmspeed port and polished exhaust manifold. big top mount intercooler. auto meter boost and oil pressure gauges. short shifter, fully adjustable coilovers, and rota p45f wheels with yokohama s.drive tires. plus maybe a few more odds and ends, but that's the "meat and potatoes"
well anyway, thanks for reading.

I'm in Rhinebeck, which is northern Hudson Valley...I know some would not consider central NY. But Yes, GO GIANTS. Last night was no fun to watch, but the end of the season all around in the NFL is certainly setting up to be interesting.
Back on topic, I cant wait to wear through these cheap tires. The wife agreed that when I do, I can get some proper tires, also some steel wheels are definately in my future as well. I have been doing a lot of research on what size tire I would like to go to. I think a 15x8 wheel for sure, deciding on 4 or 3.75" of backspacing. I will probably go with 31x10.5 even though, I really want 33's, but am a little scared of what it will do to daily driving the 4cyl. also a 2-2.5" lift will be going on at the same time as the new tires. I have only had the jeep for about 2 months now and do daily drive it with no "real" plans of off-roading it. (yet!) I know its for the mall, but for now with this jeep, I'm kind of after a meaner look. I probably have at least through winter on the current tires, so it gives me plenty of time to research and get a decent setup together. any input and experience is always appreciated. thanks

Yes. Still pissed about the poor performance last night. RG3 is quite a QB. Our team has got to get it together!
I run 31's now, but want to go with 33's in the future and a 2-2.5 inch lift also. Plenty for what I'm going to do with it. Daily driver..
Good luck with it.
