Zj Jeep Owner

Hello fellow Jeep owners.

I have a 1997 2wd GC ZJ. 100% stock but does well enough to impress some people on the trails for what it can do vs what it cannot do. I acquired it for free due to it just sitting for over a year needing some attention. So far I have cleaned it up and started adding factory options such as the front tow/recovery hooks and Foglamps (still need to find one more) Still have a few issues to iron out for the Jeep is proving to be a fine add to daily driver lineup!

Now for a few photos!

Also, I live in the Chattanooga area and on and off go up to the WMA Prentice Cooper. If there is any fellow Chatt area Wrangler guys be more and welcome to hit up some of the trails with them.

Man, I missed my ZJ from the day I sold it right up until the day I got my new JK. For as much crap as people gave them for unreliability, I had nary a problem with it. Damn fine machine, but I do like my JKU more

Got my Zj when I was 12, a 95. I put over 200,000 miles on it, it had 30,000 when we got it and now its at 235,000. Drove it daily until I got my Tj, now she jus sits at home. Kinda miss it, but I'd never trade my Tj!

btw, I've spent more on my rock rails/rocker guards than I spent on my Zj in its entirety. I had to replace 1 fuse and the passenger cv axle. That's it. Course theres oil n all, random tune up every few years, but thats it!

Yeah, the biggest issues with the Zj right now are a misfire @ idle on Cyl one. I am believing it is a burnt exhuast valve. All outside parts releated to the engine and fixing it have been done and re checked.

The headliner is coming off. I plan on takign it out and redoing myself. And the biggest concern is the transmission whines in 4th gear only. Have no clue why, however during a pan drop I found shavings and one sizable chunk. However I have driven well over 1K miles mixed highway/street/trail with no issues or bad shifts.

Here are two videos from last time we went. The hill does not look steep, has some grade to it and it was a bet I would not make it up being it was rocky, and wet. And the jeep has stock tires with two being slightly work up front. Really need some sort of LSD or locker in the rear...

Also for your enjoyment, My other car an Eagle Vision ESi with few tricks up her sleeve.

I also like to put my camera in danger and plan on making a holder for it on the jeep as well.

Also, I do not plan to try and sell it on this thread. But I am wanting to go ahead and throw out there I have a 100% new Borla Header kit for the 4.0. Suppose to fit 97 Wrangler A/t 4wd. Hoping to get $470 for it (from borla it is $575) if anyone is interested let me know. I can provide references / pictures to any interested party.

The angle does not seem like much, but inside felt like I was ready to flip over.
