Any time frame for being able to order? New Rubi is coming in 6-8 weeks and would love to order one when I order your rock rails.

Great idea, this was going to by next project after I just completed my HD light brackets. I was looking at buying a tubing bender, and I still might go that route because I want to build an exterior cargo rack also. I don't have the right equipment to fab up all this kind of stuff myself though, so if the price is reasonable I would go for one of these.

It is good to see a good amount of interest in this. We have prototyped a few different basket designs and believe we have a final prototype being finished tomorrow. We will Post some pictures as soon as we can. Pricing and availability will be discussed shortly after we make all production decisions.

I'd be interested with much smaller holes- don't want to advertise what's underneath!

Interested as well. Maybe we can organize a "group/forum buy" and be the guinea pigs before you release to the general public. That way you have a plethora of positive (hopefully ) testimonials on the product.

Talking

Oh yeah! I'd go for an aluminum model in a heartbeat. Any weight reduction is worth doing and helps after adding various steel skid plates. This basket will check off one important item on my wish list. Been looking for an interior basket since picking up my '14 4 door Aug 15th.

Looks like a great product....

I have been looking at other vendors products that are similar but can never get over the $500+ price tag.

I have no idea where you guys will be price wise but I know you make a great product at a good price point typically. At $300 i'm probably a player. At $500 I am going to make one myself.

Alright here are the pics of the last prototype we built yesterday. We are very excited about how it turned out. We made this one out of aluminum and it will bolt to steel supports like previously pictured. We have a few bugs to work out before we release them but this will work with soft top hard top and trek top on the 4dr jk. We are working on test fitment on a 2dr right now as I am typing this. The holes are smaller too!

Love it, but one thing....is it possible to make it with just holes without those fluted things, it seems like they rob cargo space without necessity and if we use plastic containers for storage, it seems like they needlessly steal dimensions. Also, is it necessary for the basket to be that deep? Not sure if it's just the pic but the basket looks awfully deep and it seems like it robs the bottom portion of vertical space. Will they come powdercoated?

How about incorporating some security aspect. Like the tuffy deck, or at least make this an option for full security when the top is down

Another "vote" for a larger basket for my 2 door without a back seat

Question regarding the square tubing. Are the edges even relatively sharp and does the basket touch the rear seat?

Although it looks like it is on the photos, I think it's vital for the basket to terminate BELOW the rear seat line. In case of an accident, we can't have the basket cutting off peoples heads, so it needs to get pushed into the back of the seats, not into passenger necks.

The dimple die is what adds rigidity to the basket allowing it to be made lightweight and strong. The basket is only 4 inches deep. The sits on top of the hardtop or where the hard top attaches. It did not change the vertical distance between the basket and the floor of the rear cargo area. We are debating the option for a powder coated version.

The quality looks outstanding....

Depending on price I might still be intrested but I actually liked the style of the first version better. I know the alluminum will be much lighter but wouldn't the price point be driven up by the material and labor required for all of those dimple dies?

Like others in my mind I am envisioning something that would provide security when the top is off. I would also love to see it pushed all the way to the back seat and have a hinge set up so you could lift it up to perhaps get intoa box or ice chest.

Got it. So there is a legit reason for those dimples, and a good one. Kudos. Looking forward to purchasing it. I guess another bonus of the dimpes is they wont saw through the bungie cords, and act like a hawse fairlead.

There is actually no square tubing in the design. It is all sheet metal that we bend to the design in the picture. The basket will not touch the back seat.

The hinge idea is great but me thinks that would add a decent amount of cost. Having said that, I'd pay probably another $50 for a hinged version that can flip up when not in use, or when you need maximum trunk space, and then flip down and lock in when needed, but I can live without it.

Will it terminate below the backseat top though?
