ACE JK Unlimited Rear Cargo Basket Sneak Peak

Here is a sneak peak of our soon to release JK Unlimited Rear Cargo Basket. This will come powder coated and work with your top on. Let us know what you think. Is there a market for a 2DR version if you don't run a rear seat??

Looks like it is using the hardtop mounting holes. Is that the case or are they different holes? I'm just wondering if it only works with the soft top or if it also works with the hard top.

Thx

If you built a cage in front behind the rear seat, it'd make for a really nice secure storage area it looks like.

We would definitely be interested in at least one.

Any idea what price range might be? If it's not too hard on the wallet, we may be interested in two.

Starbrite and I are interested in the 4dr versions btw. I would personally like it better if the area between the backseat and roll bar weren't open. My hope with a tray such as this, is that it would hinder someone sticking their hand in the rear area to snag something quickly. But it looks pretty straight forward to extend the plate there.

Also would like bungee attach points around the edges to tie down to.

Looks great, and I'm sure it's built like the rest of your gear.

I would also be interested depending on cost (4Dr version). I like the idea of mounting it to the existing holes, very simple and easy. I almost bought the Garvin Industries rack but the cost held me back. The Rampage version was also an option but was also rather pricey (albeit not nearly as bad as the Garvin) and would require modifications to fit my 2011.

I've got a 2 door and am interested in this. Would this be compatible with a deck cover?

Like it but I think the rails are to high. About half that height would look better.

We have done all fitment without the hard top on but see no issue with the basket resting on top of the hardtop and utilizing the hardtop hardware. We will be fitting it with the hard top next while we finish the fixtures.

We will test the hardtop fitment next week. The price we are still working out and will have shortly as we approach the launch of this item.

Thank you

Agree with the comment about the rails as they do seem a bit high.

Also how difficult would it be in getting it installed with the hardtop on? Seems like it may be tight. Would like to see if you can install it in a JKU that has the top on already.

Beyond these two concerns, and if the price is reasonable, I'm all in on one.

My concern would be the rack mounts resting on the hardtop "foot". Will there be enough surface area on the rack mounts to prevent cracking or any other wear at this contact point?

A nitch market that no one has bothered with is the two door guys with no backseat. Something like this or even one that bolted to the floor, with raised sides, collapsable "tail gate" that can be used a table or disconnected to drop all the way down, tie downs for a net cover and 3" drawer under the floor of it would be AWESOME. Sides would need to be tall enough to contain a normal size cooler and or a milk crate.

Know quite a few two doors running without a back seat that would like to have something like this. Can even cross over to the LJ market with it.

Can you get us a top down pic please. Would be interested if there was an optional front cage to go behind the front seats on a two door. Steel wire mesh with internal(on inside) hinges and simple hinge lock like what you see on a ladder to keep cage in place.

I have seen some post where people have made similar mounts for
putting the tire in the tub. Maybe a center tire mount option. Maybe a larger one for people going seatless that might also fit JKU.

Ok so the hard top questions were eating at me and instead of keeping you waiting we dug out the hard top put it in place and bolted it up. We will supply the 4 bolts with added length(with incapsulated washer), A protective nylon washer to go between the top or jeep and the brackets, and we are thinking of providing the threaded hard top clips. 2dr owners beware we are working on adapting the basket to work for you also!

Not sure about the wing nuts sticking up. I can see stuff or my arm scraping across them. Something flush and in black might be better. Wonder if I can fit the baby stroller under it still?

2DR Version already in the works. Looking at developing the cut lengths for the cross tubes. This will work with the seat tumbled or if you run without a rear seat.

We used wing nuts for the removability of the basket. You can flip them so that they are down or use a nylock nut. We used stainless so that they will not rust if you run your JK with out a top.
