I have a 98 TJ 2.5. Not sure on which axles. I do need 4:88's for the 5 speed. Should be the stock axles it came with, hopefully there arent multiple options. Sorry for the lack of info, new to Jeeps. Thanks so much

The 299.00 is for JK axles, depending on the availability of economy gears the price on other axles can vary. The $299 also does not include install kits, The $587 you were quoted was premium gears and install kits.

Question 4.27's

93 YJ. PO did axle swap said from Grand Wagoneer. Was given 4.27 ring/pinion so need one 4.27 set for front. Are front /rear interchangeable?

Not sure what gears are in now.

bill of material #
Front: 8953004004/3-31-610325-2
rear: 8953004030/ 31-605329-1

I'm not all that familiar with these numbers, hope they are correct and can help.

Thanks,
Kim

Both axles are Dana 44 axles from a Grand Wagoneer with 3.31 Gear Ratios from the factory. These ring and pinion sets are the same for both front and rear. The master overhaul kits will be slightly different from front to rear.

You will also need to replace the carriers to upgrade to the 4.27 gears.

I will send you a PM with additional information.
