For those of you who are OX Locker fans, there is now a cover for you to use the PR44 housing. Dynatrac does not offer the OX installed perse, however, you can get the housing and have your local shop install it or do it yourself. Dynatrac will install one for you, but they will not warranty the locker install. Weird I know.

Custom axle shaft mfg choices are numerous. If you want the RCV shafts, I sell those as well but you should run either the Pro Steer upper and factory lower ball joints or both factory joints.

Anything Dynatrac, Currie Enterprises, G2, and stock Mopar from Dynatrac.

Where is it you see your project heading? Are you looking for a factory TJ 44, something HP after market, a fabricated housing hybrid axle, Ford 8.8, or Ford 9", D60? What kind of wheeling are you doing or want to do? Are you planning a f/r axle swap or just rear and re-gearing the front, lockers, or ?????

The Pro Rock D44 housing is a fantastic way to gain the strength and ground clearance when upgrading your front D30 or D44. If you are planning on building a D30, don't! Get a Pro Rock D44 front end under your rig instead. Many options available. PM or post for a quote.

Planning on a ford 8.8 rear. 35s, 37 at most. Would this b the place to look for a front axle? Would it handle 37s? I mean beating the crap out of it!!!! Will it handle thrashing with 37s? Lol

My rear Dana 35 in my 2004 tj is about to go out the spider gears are missing teeth and its leaking out of the pinion seal I've been debating going for a 8.8 for the rear. And regearing while I'm at it with 4.56s. Then just not using 4 wd until I get the funds to regear the front Dana 30. Anything you guys could offer me thanks you - Brady

You really need to go with a D60. With all you other posts and getting a feel for your driving style and build direction, definitely a D60 f/r. Shoot me a PM with all the specs you want a a total of the components you want or how you want your rig when done, and I will shoot you back some prices.

I don't have an 8.8 option for you. I can do a D44 (high or low pinion), D60 (HP or LP again; many options here), HP or LP Ford 9", and some others. I can also offer you a re-gear package for both front and rear with a good price. What size tires are you going to run? If you want to run 35s and have an auto, you will need 4.88s.

Cleaned out. So if I put a truetrac n that what would the price b? And what would b the biggest tire I could run and not worry about breakage on this axle?

I have a 2004 LJ and I'm looking for an axle housing set up that will handle 37's. Will the Pro Rock 44 with RCV axles be strong enough or should I be looking at a 60?

You should really be looking at a 60. By the time you add in the cost of the outers etc., to finish it off, you are just shy (relatively) of a D60. Conversely, if you just do the PR44 housing geared and RCV'd and use you knuckles out, you are no stronger than your exist D30 all beefed up. This is do to the unit bearing you are currently running.

Let me know what you want. Don't get me wrong, I had an '06 LJ Rubicon that I ran 37s on for two years and 10 trips through the Rubicon Trail with no issues. I am not a skinny pedal hammer jockey either. Depends on your driving style. If you are going to build a new aftermarket axle do it right the first time and be done with it. You do not want to build it better after you install it for the money it costs.

I'm really looking to upgrade my axles off tax returns. I have an 89 yj, with a 4.0 motor and auto Trans. I'm getting the jeep setup to run 37 inch tires. Will your 44s hold 37s, and ballpark what kind of money are we talking for front and rear. Or if you have better ideas I'd be all ears, thanks for your time

You can make a D44 run 37s but by the time you get into that much prep and beefing up, you might as well have agootten a D60. Pro Rock 44s will run 37s but, longevity depends on your driving style.

I was set on purchasing a Currie RJ 60 in the next couple of weeks. I was exploring other similar rear 60 options. How does the pro rock or trail series 60 compare?

The RJ 60 price point from 4wd.com is close to the trail 60 you quoted with disc, Detroit and ready to bolt into my TJ.

They are comparable yes! The RJ will have great ground clearance but not by much. The prices list above were retail numbers. Please send me or post a link to what you were looking at. I can also sell Currie axles.

You will also be interested to know that the RJ rear 60s that 4wd.com sells use set 10 bearings not set 80.
