Ive had an Engo winch for a while now, mostly used for stupid stuff like removing the mother in laws car from my driveway or pulling dead limbs out of trees. Couple weekends ago had to use mine to pull myself out of a nasty hole out at the Cliffs Insane Terrain. Not only did the winch get me out of 4' of mud with the jeep on its side, but it did it while spending most of the time winching under water and covered in mud.

FULL RECOVERY with no damage to the winch or Jeep (minus some scratches on the side it was resting on till the jeep could pull me level)

Nothing but love, I could not be happier with the winch or the company!

Best testimonial you can have! There's some nasty wheeling up there for sure.

Just as a reminder, especially for us east coast and midwest customers, these are in stock in Kentucky, which means super fast shipping times!

does anyone have a pic of the neoprene cover on the winch?
I ordered one anyway, seems like a good idea, just curious on how they look installed

I have no clue with these things... Which one will fit best on a 10th Anniversary front bumper, and do I need some kind of mounting plate in addition to the winch?

Also, I assume the advantage of synthetic is to save weight?

TIA.

ENGO is the absolute best bang for the buck! $499 for a 12k winch with synth line and cover is a fantastic price! Love mine.

My E10000-S has passed it's 1-year mark with no significant failures. The cap over the remote socket cracked off recently, the rubber "boots" over the terminal connectors have discolored and started exuding some weird sticky sh*t, and it's loud enough to scare wildlife for a 3/4 mile radius... but it hasn't given up despite being loaded close to capacity a few times. I still consider it a worthwhile purchase, especially considering the price point.

When picking a winch its good to go 2.5x the weight of your jeep, looks like your curb weight is about 4700 lbs so personally I would go with the 12k with synthetic. Physical size wise they are all pretty close to the same with a standard mounting bolt pattern.

Yes you will need a winch plate, unless you bumper already has a winch mount which I believe the 10th Anniversary does? (OMG I WANT) from the pics it looks like you have a removable chunk in the center to set the winch inside.

The advantages of synthetic are many: its easier to handle, less likely to bind up, more forgiving in "tug" situations, a LOT lighter, and its also a lot safer. Snapping a steel cable could be life threatening.

I would also recommend the wireless remote, Its come in handy for sure.

Facts about my Jeep:
My jeep weighs 3800 lbs fully loaded with 2 passengers. (I know from scrapping the motorcycle)
I have 190 amp alternator and a 625 cranking amp battery (500 CCA cold cranking amps)
(which means it can support a load of 190 without any drain to the battery, while running, and up to 500/650 with the engine off. A safe amp max for me is 400, this will allow enough time to run the winch/ accessory and still start the jeep when I'm done)

this is the company that makes the winch:
engouse.com

The E10000:
Engo 10,000lb winch

The Warn vr10000: (this is its direct competition)
WARN vr10000

E10000 specifications:
winch specs
What's important to look at here is the amp pull and the weight restrictions per layer. This winch has the ability to pull 1.5x my jeep at layer 4, which means the cable is wrapped around the drum 4 times. This will allow me to winch to closer objects, which may be important. It also has an amp pull well within range of my stock electrical system. The WARN requires a 650 CCA to power it, which means I would potentially have to re-engineer my electrical system or buy a bigger battery to use it safely.

Here is some info on the winch in comparison to other brand winches:
massive multi winch shoot out

Why 10,000lb instead of 9000lb:
The winches rating is the max weight it can pull at full line extension, the weight you need to effectively recover your vehicle is thought to be 2.5 times the weight of your jeep, which for me would be 9,500 lbs. However the average need for pulling out is likely only 1.5 times the weight of your jeep, or 5,700 lbs.

The higher rating offers more torque at a lower power consumption. With this winch I will not be required to upgrade my jeep to a dual battery setup or a high performance alternator. It can handle the required amp with the stock setup. This is important because other winches such as the Warn, or Superwinch require more power for the same level of work.

The 12k winch would increase the max pull, torque and lower power consumption above and beyond what the 10 does, its worth considering for the extra $40 but not necessary.
^ when looking for a winch here is some basic info

Shouldn't be if you ordered it from us. I wasn't in Friday, but there was a big box full of them in the warehouse last I checked. Shoot me your order info and I'll verify it when I'm back in Monday.

Chris, Help!!!
I ordered some replacement parts for my JK ARB bumper from you guys while saving up for one of these winches. I was told I'd have them in 7-10 days. It's been a month now, and the customer service person I talked to today told me the order hadn't even been placed with ARB and advised me to cancel the order--can this be right!?

I thought I should talk to you before getting a refund.

I'll PM you the order # and my phone # as well.

Chris, thanks for your help yesterday in figuring out my order status! I look forward to getting my bumper parts to get ready for a winch in the future. Wish they would have been here in the 7-10 days I was originally promised (by a different salesperson), but better late than never!

My advice to anyone ordering Jeep stuff from these guys: talk to Chris, he really knows his stuff.

Chris,
I called again today to check on my order status and was told your information from last week was incorrect and my parts wouldn't ship out 'til next Wednesday at the earliest. They're also apparently unable to do a partial shipment of some of my parts that are just sitting there.

This is extremely frustrating since I was originally told 7-10 days, and we'll now be approaching 8 weeks! Every time I call my ship date gets pushed out. I realize the issue is with ARB, and if Jeep Add-Ons had originally told me it'd be 8-12 wks that would be one thing--but I was told 7-10 days. Seems like some checking could have been done upfront before taking my money. If I knew it was gonna take this long I would've gone another route.

If there's any way you can help I sure would appreciate it.

Use the promo code "BLOWOUT" online and can get that delivered to you for $518.69. This will be shipping directly from the manufacturer in Washington.

Yes we do. $439, $25 on the remote and $20 on the cover. Looks like two days transit time to you there in FL.

Chris,
I appreciate the time you spent working on this with me this afternoon. I'm disappointed we won't be able to do business on these parts, but hope to be able to do business on a winch soon.

Chris, got the winch installed today, thanks!

Question though: I installed the wiring per the instructions, but the directions are reversed (in is out, out is in). Would fixing this be as simple as swapping the red and black connections on the top of the motor (leaving yellow alone)?
